One of Queen's most beautiful songs: No one but you (only the good die young). Makes me cry every times I listen to it...

A hand above the water
An angel reaching for the sky
Is it raining in heaven -
Do you want us to cry?

And everywhere the broken-hearted
On every lonely avenue
No-one could reach them
No-one but you

One by one
Only the Good die young
They're only flying too close to the sun
And life goes on -
Without you...

Another Tricky Situation
I get the drownin' in the Blues
And I find myself thinkin'
Well - what would you do?

Yes! - it was such an operation
Forever paying every due
Hell, you made a sensation
You found a way through - and

One by one
Only the Good die young
They're only flyin' too close to the sun
We'll remember -
Forever...

And now the party must be over
I guess we'll never understand
The sense of your leaving
Was in the way it was planned?

And so we dress another table
And raise our glasses one more time
There's a face at the window
And I ain't never, never sayin' goodbye...

One by one
Only the Good die young
They're only flyin' too close to the sun
Cryin' for nothing
Cryin' for no-one
No-one but you

Whenever I need to concentrate on something, I have to do it in music. That's why I am always listening music in the office. I put the headset on and then the world can crash down, I won't even realize it. And one of the greatest invention of the century is Yahoo Launchcast: you select the type of music you want to listen to and it plays it for hours.
This afternoon, while working on an important file, I put the headset on, turned on the music and Yahoo played one of my favorite songs: "Time of your life" from Green Day. I love this song because I think it is so true: stop dreaming about what was or what could be, but enjoy the day, the minute, the second because when it is gone, it is gone forever! You might never experience anything like this anymore. You never know what to expect but when whatever happens, you should welcome it with your arms opened.
It is strange to see how sometimes some songs talk to you. Music is the best way to conduct emotions and that's probably why it has such a big place in my life. If I had to live on a deserted island, I would take my Ipod and a dictionary with me.

Ok, back to work now...

Dinner last night. Very nice and very interesting ! I observed people around me and was amazed to see how much all of us changed:
* Mimo-san went from this extremely shy and principle-based-relationships lady to this interesting and unknown in love person. When she is with Tony, she shines ! You can see and feel the sparkles around her !
* Laurent oi used to be this ladies-lover who would look up and down to anything that wears a skirt. Now he is turning into a civilized (almost) gentleman about to get married
* Winnie went from this single-state girl to this in love lady with very different priorities now.
* Fon went from this home-buddy to this incredible party-animal, seeking for alcohol and fun. She used to be the one turning down any invitation to go out. Now she is the one asking us to go out. And I love her this way !

I know I also changed a lot and it is fine for me. I have different expectations on people and learned from hard lessons. Let's say that 2006 was a tough year but one that helped me to grow up. And I hope this will keep going this way.

I think yesterday's dinner was nice because despite the changes, we were able to sit all together around a table for few hours. This did not happen for a while.

Looking for other nice dinners ;-)

What should be the goal of our life ? Happiness? love? self accomplishment ? career ? wealth ?
The answer depends of course of our own personality. The word "personality" does not only mean what we are now but also what we have been before that made us what we are now. If while one was a kid, he did not have enough love or money, he might be craving for money or love in his adulthood. And he might definitely do everything to become the opposite of what he was as a kid.
Let's get personal and talk about what I think is the goal of my life: I want to be able to face myself everyday in the mirror and be fine with what I see. I think the word "happiness" is bullshit as you put everything and nothing under it. What is it to be happy ? Is it to smile everyday ? to feel ok with yourself, no matter what happens around you (starvation, wars, conflicts, rapes) ? That's very selfish. And how would you reach this happiness ? By having a job with a great salary ? somebody to sleep by your side ? kids to raise ? I leave it to the others !
I would rather stick to myself and make my mind on what my life should look like. Once I decide the way, I just have to follow the path... easy :-)
I think some of us will do little things in their little lives, others will do great thinks in their great lives. I do not pretend to be part of the latest but I will definitely not be within the first either. It does not matter to me what people expect or dream of. I just want to have the life I decide to have, no matter the cost of it. I will learn the lessons on the way, to become stronger and to go further. And if at 80 years' old I can look at myself in the mirror and not regret any single decision I took in the past 80 years, I guess I will be happy ! This is my goal of life...

Carpe Diem !
Don't waste time looking for things to come. But don't be afraid of your past; it is only the future who did not last. Remember to enjoy every single second of this life as in your next , you might have to handle harder situations...

" I think people that have a brother or sister don't realize how lucky they are. Sure, they fight a lot, but to know that there's always somebody there, somebody that's family."

First song of the year ... Civil war from Guns n' Roses...
Quite inspiring actually !

What we've got here is failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach...
So, you get what we had here last week,
Which is the way he wants it !
Well, he gets it !
N' I don't like it any more than you men.

Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before

Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before

My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of God and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars

D'you wear a black armband
When they shot the man
Who said "Peace could last forever"
And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
That you can't trust freedom
When it's not in your hands
When everybody's fightin'
For their promised land

And
I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
You're power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war

Look at the shoes you're filling
Look at the blood we're spilling
Look at the world we're killing
The way we've always done before
Look in the doubt we've wallowed
Look at the leaders we've followed
Look at the lies we've swallowed
And I don't want to hear no more

My hands are tied
For all I've seen has changed my mind
But still the wars go on as the years go by
With no love of God or our human rights
and all these dreams are swept aside
By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

We practice selective annihilation
Of mayors and government officials
For example to create a vacuum
Then we fill that vacuum
As popular war advances
Peace is closer

I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
You're power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
And I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
You're power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
I don't need one more war

I don't need one more war
Whaz so civil 'bout war anyway?
